HOTPOINT Brand History

The trademark Hotpoint-Ariston is one of the many brands owned by Indesit Company. This is the name of the machine building company from Italy. In this country the headquarters of the firm is Fabriano located. She is one of the largest manufacturers of household appliances in Europe.

His company Aristide Merloni founded in 1930 in this very city of Fabriano, where its headquarters are now located. Initially, she had a narrow specialization - the manufacture of scales Industrie Merloni. However, later the enterprise switched to the production of gas cylinders and electric water heaters.

In 1970, shortly before his death, the founder of the company divided it into 3 parts, each of which went to his sons: Vittorio, Francesco and Antonio. As a result, there were three new companies with their specialization - Antonio Merloni SpA (scales and gas cylinders), Merloni Elettrodomestici (large household appliances), Merloni Termosanitari (water heaters and baths).

Since 1987, the shares of the company Merloni Elettrodomestici are listed on the stock exchange in Milan. And in 2005 it was renamed Indesit Company. The main brands of this manufacturer are Indesit, Hotpoint-Ariston and Scholtos.

Quite recently, in 2007, the brands Ariston and Hotpoint merged, which led to the creation of a joint brand Hotpoint-Ariston.

Under this brand Hotpoint-Ariston, many kinds of household appliances have become very popular. The company attracts consumers with its washing machines, washing-drying machines, drying and dishwashers. It also produces plates, cooking surfaces, ovens, hoods, refrigerators, freezers. And large household appliances - both built-in and stand-alone.

Now the Indesit Company includes 14 enterprises. And not only in Italy, but also in Poland, Britain, Turkey. And in Russia - too! She also has 24 commercial representations. The company employs over 16 thousand people.
